The members of this committee shall be limited to 7 committee members. The 7 committee members shall be appointed by the Hopewell City Council. The qualifications of the 7 appointed committee members shall be that 5 of the committee members are residents of the City of Hopewell and that 2 committee members may be non-residents that are employed or are business owners in the City of Hopewell. Any member may be removed by the City Council at the recommendation of the committee for unexcused absences at three (3) consecutive regularly scheduled meetings, or for the inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance of office. The members shall serve a term of four (4) years. An appointed member’s term of office shall immediately prior to the beginning of the regular November meeting at which meeting his or hers successor’s term of office shall begin.
